UIB Announces 2017 IoT Day Events
From Bangalore to San Salvador to online – this Sunday, April 9, 2017, you can join UIB’s IoT Day celebrations
Singapore (April 4, 2017) – Global intelligent Internet of Things (IoT) messaging leader Unified Inbox Pte. Ltd. (UIB) today announced their participation in 2017 IoT Day events around the world.
“Part of our company’s philosophy is to engage team members who work in different countries in global events such as IoT Day, which was started by the IoT Council – the world’s leading independent think tank on IoT. UIB team members are organizing events in their local communities to raise awareness and involve more people in the conversation about how we can use IoT at home, at work, and on the go to improve people’s lives, in use cases ranging from healthcare to public transportation to energy and the environment.”
Toby Ruckert, UIB Founder and CEO
“In the coming decade, IoT is going to disrupt every major industry. Having an understanding of IoT is going to become a critical skill set for one’s job search – that’s why IoT Day is such a great opportunity. All of us, regardless of age or experience, can deepen our understanding of IoT, educate each other, and share our learnings and experiences."
Toby Ruckert, UIB Founder and CEO
“IoT Day was started in 2010 to create awareness about the Internet of Things, its applications, and its impact on people’s lives. Even most technology experts don’t fully understand IoT, and the same goes for the people around us – in my case, my own family members. We need really good ‘human’ stories to help people to understand IoT. And our goal is to get people talking about how IoT can make a real difference in their lives.”
Rob van Kranenburg, IoT Council Founder and Chairman
"We're hosting El Salvador’s first ever IoT Day celebration in cooperation with Monstruo Innovation, HackerSpace, InnBox, and FabLab. Along with interactive demonstrations, we’ll have a series of four talks: 1) Lito Ibarra on distributed intelligence, 2) Mario Gomez on IoT basics, 3) Carlos Valladares on digital manufacturing, and 4) Claudia Olmedo on innovation. I am excited to be part of the emerging IoT community in El Salvador, and to be able to share this knowledge with everyone who wants to learn, develop, and/or just have fun with IoT. We will not only continue the promotion of IoT in El Salvador, but across the entire Latin American region. Learn more at: theinternetofthings.eu/celebrate-first-iot-day-el-salvador."

"We're hosting an IoT Day event in Bangalore. Creating awareness about IoT will really help people to understand the technology, and how it can impact their daily lives. We want to inspire people to learn more about IoT and to discover its possibilities across different industry verticals. The event will showcase how the most popular communications channels, including Viber, WhatsApp, and SMS, can be used to remotely control smart devices ranging from lights to vacuum cleaners. Aby Varghese, UIB Team Member
"We're hosting a virtual IoT Day event on Twitter from Orlando, Florida on the hashtag #iottweetchat. Not everyone lives in a location holding a local event, so by holding a virtual event on Twitter, everyone is able to become a part of the global IoT community. This also gives us the opportunity to share photos and videos from people participating at different local events throughout the day. Learn more at: iotday.org/iotdaytweetchat."
